Our building is closed for all programming and groups
The Elizabethtown Social Center misses everyone and is very anxious to get back to our regular programs and activities. Social is our middle name; we are very excited for a time when being social is again socially acceptable (and responsible!)
As a phase four non-essential business, the soonest we can begin to reopen our building for programming will be June 26. We hope that the North Country region continues to meet the metrics and that the reopening phases go smoothly. If phases 1-3 are held up, our reopening will be pushed back. But rest assured, we will be ready, and I bet you all will be too.
In the meantime, outdoor activities requiring no contact with people outside of your household appear to fall within guidelines. Our tennis and pickleball nets are up. We hope to tidy up our frisbee golf course, which is a great family activity and opportunity to enjoy the sunshine. We welcome members of the same household to play basketball, four square and gaga ball. Please bring your own equipment and maintain social distancing.
Free wifi is still available courtesy of Westelcom! Please remain in your cars or at a safe distance from others on the lawn. The username and password are both westelcom.
Unfortunately, we cannot hold our On the Center Lawn program as planned. However, we are hopeful that we can offer a few opportunities for music on the lawn before the summer is over. Stay tuned! And be well.
FREE HIGH SPEED INTERNET
Westelcom recently installed fiber-fed wifi* with a signal strong enough to accommodate many devices in the Social Center parking lot JUST FOR YOU, community members. Stream video, apps - it will do whatever you need. Please come use it if you do not have internet at home for school and work!

Thank you to Westelcom for supporting our communities during this time!
*Drive-up service only -- please stay in your car. The building is closed.
Courts are open!
We have been following NYS updates and guidelines carefully and have determined that it is permissible to allow tennis, pickleball and platform tennis play.
NYS guidelines have been very science-based. While there is a variety of opinions and personal choices during the covid crisis, our opening will be based solely on NYS guidelines. Please make your own determination about when you feel it is safe to return to the courts. The Social Center building and programming will not open until June 26 at the earliest. If you have questions or concerns, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
The following guidelines by the USTA should be reviewed before playing:
