Facilities Manager - Part Time (20-25 hours/week)
​The Elizabethtown Social Center is seeking a part time facilities manager to oversee the maintenance and daily physical operations of our buildings and grounds. We are seeking an individual with at least four years of experience in general carpentry and grounds keeping with basic knowledge of plumbing and electrical.
Applicants must be physically able, highly motivated and organized. They must have the needed experience to work both independently and to collaborate with the Executive Director to prioritize tasks. They will perform both groundskeeping and some construction projects in-house, and coordinate with vendors to perform additional work.
Hours are flexible, but should fall mostly within 8am – 6pm, Tues-Fri.
​Salary: $25 - $28/hour if applicant has all relevant skill.
Vacation, sick time and some medical benefits available.
​Must be on call for emergencies and available for occasional weekend events.

The Social Center offers cultural and arts events to the community and runs a popular Teen Rec program for all teens in the Boquet Valley School District. The Center has been a key part of Elizabethtown's social and cultural life since its founding in 1939. We have 3 full time staff and 2 part time. We are open Tuesdays through Fridays and occasional weekends.
Core Responsibilities

Maintenance and Operations:
-
Identify and manage all building and grounds maintenance needs.

Do preventative maintenance and repairs as needed. This includes but is not limited to: carpentry, repair work, electrical, plumbing, yard work, roof repair, mowing and snow shoveling.

Keep shed and work areas clean and tools safe and in good working order.

Oversee the cleaning and janitorial needs of the building and manage cleaning staff.

Maintain the 8 acres of grounds which include; lawns, woodland trails, a basketball court, tennis court, platform tennis court and disk golf course.

Prepare facilities for changing weather conditions.

Be on call to handle emergency maintenance situations as they arise.

Support programming staff to prepare facility for events as needed.

Capital Improvement Projects Management:
-
The facilities manager will be required to identify and work with outside contractors to oversee, manage and monitor large capital projects at the facility.

Must be able to plan and manage smaller improvement and renovation projects as needed on their own.

Be able to work with suppliers to order equipment and building supplies as needed.

Office skills: Familiarity with computer software such as Google Docs, Microsoft Word, Excel or other spreadsheet type software programs. Know how to use email and write monthly facilities reports to present to board members and committees.

Leadership and communication: Ability to oversee staff, delegate tasks and communicate clearly with employees and vendors. And, from time to time mentor and teach skills to apprenticing teens.

Organizational: High attention to detail, time management, and the ability to multitask and prioritize workloads.

Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and decision making skills to address issues promptly and effectively. ​
