About the event
Join us for this unique panel discussion and community conversation!
Hosted by Elizabethtown Social Center in partnership with the North Country Underground Railroad Historical Association, we invite residents and visitors to reflect on the meaning of freedom in America — past, present, and future.
The panel consists of a group of community members who came together - inspired by the ideals of the Declaration of Independence and the celebration of Juneteenth - to explore how the ideals of liberty have shaped the nation while also recognizing the struggles and contradictions that accompanied those ideals.
Panelists include:
Jacqueline Madison, North Star Underground Railroad Historical Association
Peter Slocum, Adirondack History Museum
