"Hadestown is a haunting and hopeful theatrical experience that grabs you and never lets go."
Hadestown reimagines the Greek myth of Orpheus and Eurydice, set in a post-apocalyptic world inspired by the New Orleans French Quarter. Eurydice is a poor girl looking for a ticket to a better life, and she's convinced to go to Hadestown by Hades himself. Her love interest, Orpheus, has a song in his heart that, when sung, can free people from Hade's lair. The problem is, Orpheus just can't seem to finish it.
Hadestown has 8 Tony Awards including best musical, best original score, and best direction.
