Let's light up the Community this Holiday season!

Updated: Dec 22

The holiday season is all about community, creativity, and a little sparkle! This year, our towns delivered! The 43rd Annual Arthur G. Hooper Decorating Contest brought the streets of Elizabethtown, Lewis, and New Russia to life with festive lights, imaginative displays, and plenty of holiday cheer.

This year, a few members of the Elizabethtown Social Center staff, Laurie, Shari and Emily hit the road to tour all the decorated homes. We turned up the christmas music & filled up with snacks on our trip! We made stops along the route to admire every display and capture photos, celebrating all the time, effort, and holiday spirit that went into each one. If you saw a little red car pulled over at your house, don't worry that was just us! Shari & Emily also liked to play "Where's Waldo" but instead "Where's Laurie" as she was trying to get the best angle of your decor! It was a tough decision as everyone did an amazing job!

We’re excited to share that Lewis won for town spirit, with the most homes decorated across the area. It’s clear this town loves its lights and knows how to spread holiday joy! And as always, to keep things fair, winners can’t win two years in a row, giving everyone a chance to shine.

The Elizabethtown Social Center is pleased to announce the winners of the 43rd annual Arthur G. Hooper Decorating Contest! Winners will receive a gift from the Social Center and have their names engraved on a permanent plaque to be displayed at the center!

A special thank-you goes to the local businesses that helped make this festive tradition possible: Dulacs Bookkeeping, Feeley and Sons Well Drilling, Pleasant Valley Café, Cobble Hill Golf Course and the Town Hill. Your support helps keep our streets bright and our community connected.

To everyone who participated, cheered from the sidelines, or took a family drive to enjoy the lights, thank you. You helped turn ordinary winter nights into something truly special. The Arthur G. Hooper Decorating Contest is a celebration of community, creativity, and the joy of the season, and we’re so grateful to share it with you.

Here’s to glowing lights, happy hearts, and another holiday season well spent.

Congratulations to the winners and thank you to everyone for creating a festive atmosphere in our communities! Pictures really don't do the decorations justice so make sure that you go drive around to see everyone's hard work!

Christmas Cheer at the Center!

If you haven’t had a chance yet, make sure to drive by the Elizabethtown Social Center to see the incredible holiday display created by our very own Facilities Manager, Jeremy Clifford. For years, Jeremy has been transforming the Social Center into a winter wonderland full of lights and festive magic and this year is no exception!

Pro tip: if you’re coming from Lewis, you’ll get the best view of the display, so grab the family, take a drive, and soak in the sparkle. Jeremy’s hard work and holiday spirit are truly something special—and it’s the perfect way to keep the festive energy going after touring all the decorating contest homes!

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays from the Social Center!
