We are pleased to announce Thomas Cross as our new Facilities Manager at the Elizabethtown Social Center! Tom joined our team in mid-January and has already made a wonderful impact.
Tom is a native of Lewis and brings with him years of dedicated public service experience. He retired from the Essex County Sheriff's Department and previously worked part-time as a security guard with Social Services. He has years of experience renovating homes and also continues to work part-time with Kevin A. Hall, LS.
In his role as Facilities Manager, Tom oversees all building and grounds maintenance, as well as the management and monitoring of capital improvement projects. Tom’s first major project at the Center was to relocate water pipes to the interior of our building, as they were perpetually in danger of freezing - a big upgrade for us. He is also working closely with outside contractors on our exciting energy upgrade project. This spring, the Center will be converting from fuel oil to a heat pump system, adding blown-in insulation to our uninsulated walls, spray foam insulation in our basement and adding gutters to preserve our siding.
We are excited to have Tom as part of the Elizabethtown Social Center team. He brings a strong work ethic, dedication, and attention to detail that will help us preserve the Center’s historic charm while continuing to improve our facilities. Tom is a true go-getter! When he identifies a project that needs attention, he gets it done promptly and properly.
“I am happy to contribute to a center that’s such a valuable resource for the community.” – Tom
Outside of work, Tom enjoys embracing the outdoors during hunting season and spending valuable time with his family and friends. In his free time, he’s often at the bowling alley perfecting his game or on the golf course enjoying a relaxing day on the greens.
