A Warm Welcome to Emily Rascoe - Our New Arts and Outreach Coordinator!

We are truly excited to welcome Emily Rascoe as our new Arts and Outreach Coordinator. A Wadhams native with deep roots in the community, Emily brings a wealth of experience in event planning and community engagement to this role.

"Emily has already made a difference at the Center," said Laurie House, Director of the Social Center. "Her extensive background in event coordination and her genuine passion for bringing people together make her the perfect fit as we continue to expand our community programming."

Emily’s professional journey began at Herkimer College, where she earned a degree in Travel and Events Management. She furthered her education at Niagara University, completing a degree in Events and Meeting Management. Her career includes positions at Walt Disney and as an Events Coordinator and Planner at Assorted Artistries in Plattsburgh, specializing in weddings throughout New York and Vermont. Most recently, she served as Manager of Dogwood Bakery, where she oversaw operations and managed the company's web presence.

"I'm excited to bring events to the community I grew up in and love," says Emily. "This position is a great opportunity for me to work with kids and to create opportunities for people to come together. I love seeing a vision come to life and creating the perfect atmosphere for memorable experiences."

A longtime supporter of the arts, Emily has regularly participated in the Social Center’s cultural trips and is an enthusiastic musical theater fan ("Mamma Mia" and "The Temptations" were her favorite productions). She also brings a personal passion for crafting, a creative skill passed down through her family, which she continues through various projects including card-making and sign creation.

In her new role, Emily will build upon the Social Center’s recent growth in community events and outreach programs, developing new initiatives to engage residents of all ages.

Emily began her position on April 2.  Please feel free to reach out to her if you are interested in offering arts programs through the Center or have questions about our programs.
