Shari Morris Promoted to New Office Manager Position
The Elizabethtown Social Center is pleased to announce the promotion of Shari Morris to Office Manager.
Shari has been a dedicated member of the Social Center team for 14 years. She began as a Program Assistant in 2010, quickly proving herself to be organized, efficient, and reliable, especially within the Teen Rec program and other events.
She was promoted to Senior Program Assistant in 2015, taking a leadership role in the Teen Rec program. Shari readily admits that among all her roles at the Center, working with the kids has been her favorite.
“I’ve learned so much from the kids and have enjoyed all the moments I have been able to spend time with them and be a positive influence,” said Shari.
In 2019, Shari began assisting with administrative duties, transitioning into a new Executive Assistant role. Her ability and willingness to tackle any responsibility needed to help the Center meet its mission made her an invaluable asset during a period of organizational transformation.
“I love that there’s something different each day and that it’s such a positive environment with a great group of coworkers. It makes the job easy and fun,” said Shari.
Embracing more administrative responsibilities and growing with the organization over the last five years, Shari has earned this promotion to the new Office Manager position. As capacity and funding have increased, so has the need for administrative support, and Shari has kept in lockstep the entire time. The promotion is well-deserved recognition of the outstanding work she has been tackling, which continues to expand, especially during the current executive transition.
Shari will be a foundational presence during the transition period for the incoming Executive Director as Arin Burdo leaves the organization after 15 years.
“Shari has been my right hand as the Social Center has transformed from a 1900s organization to a contemporary 21st-century nonprofit. She has grown with the organization, embracing an administrative support role that includes everything from accounts payable and payroll to tracking data for grants, onboarding new staff, and fundraising support. Shari’s flexibility and work ethic are invaluable. I will miss her deeply, particularly the relationship we shared for years in 'momming' our beloved teens,” said Burdo.
The Social Center is fortunate to have Shari Morris on an outstanding team of staff, board and trustees who continue to evolve and meet community needs and interests. Congratulations to Shari from the whole team!
